Students in the secondary advanced language arts classes at Clark, Southard and Princeton High School have summer reading requirements to prepare for the upcoming school year.
The expectations and demands in these courses are more rigorous than grade-level classes, so the summer component is built into the curriculum.
The purpose of summer reading is to promote wide reading of notable literature to further develop life-long reading skills.
Each grade level has different required reading as choices to appeal to the individual interests of the reader.
