Theatre to offer summer programs

Cast from a recent PHS production.

The Princeton High School Theatre Department is hosting summer workshops for the first time ever to showcase what they have to offer, as well as expose younger children to what theatre is all about.

There are two options for camps:

Camp A: A summer camp for younger kids (incoming 3rd-grade students to 8th-graders) to be exposed to basic theatre, dance and maybe even some singing.

Camp B: A summer camp for high school thespians (incoming 9th- through 12th-graders) that will expose them to theatre education, directing, acting and tech.

When

Camp A: Runs from 7:30 a.m. to noon Monday-Wednesday, Aug. 5-7.

Camp B: Runs from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Aug. 5-7.

Where

Princeton High School auditorium and theatre classrooms.

Why

Camp A will help younger thespians gain stage confidence and receive exposure to basic theatre principles. The students will produce at least one performance while at the camp and work with teachers and high school students throughout the week.

Camp B will give the older students a chance to direct all ages and see if education is a possible career choice. The high school thespian will also conduct workshops and work calls in the afternoon.

Cost

Camp A: $10 a day. Payment must be made before or when the student is dropped off on the first morning of camp.

Camp B: FREE

Use these google forms to register students for camp. Each student must also have a current health form on file. So, all campers must fill out the health form as well.
