Onion Festival

Celebrate 22 years on April 25, 2026

The 22nd Annual Princeton Onion Festival is a celebration of community, heritage, and hometown pride benefitting the Princeton Lions Club.

Collin County's rich onion history started right here in Princeton, TX. By the 1940s, Princeton was shipping 175 train-car loads of onions each year, helping put our community on the map across North Texas. Old-timers still tell the story of the sweet Bermuda onion that earned Princeton the proud title of the Onion Capital of Texas.

What is the Princeton Lions Club?

Every year, the Princeton Lions Club proudly hosts the Princeton Onion Festival to celebrate our town's history and raise funds to support the families of Princeton ISD.

The Princeton Onion Festival helps provide vision screenings and eyeglasses for students in need, scholarships for graduating seniors at Princeton Senior High, and support local families through the Princeton Gives Program (formerly Angel Tree) during the holiday season.
