Chromebooks

Campus-issued Chromebooks are available to all Princeton ISD students in grades 6-12 for use during school and at home. Signing up for a Chromebook is included in the student registration process.

Chromebook Insurance

Chromebook insurance is optional through School Device Coverage, and must be purchased and paid for within 30 days of receiving your Chromebook.

Insurance payments must be made either through School Device Coverage or by mailing a check with the completed forms to School Device Coverage at 3390 Auto Mall Dr., Westlake Village, CA 91362.

If Chromebook insurance is not purchased within the 30-day window, you will automatically be opted out and cannot opt in until the next school year.

When signing up for insurance, School Device Coverage will request the model and either the serial number or asset tag number of the Chromebook. All three of these items can be located on the bottom of your Chromebook. The model number is either a Lenovo 100e or Lenovo 300e. The serial number will follow S/N below the model. The asset tag is on the Princeton ISD label attached to the bottom. 

If you cannot locate these numbers, please contact your campus library.

NOTE: The Chromebook insurance does not include the charger.

If a parent chooses not to purchase the insurance for their student's Chromebook, they are responsible for any and all damages that may occur.

The repair/replacement costs without insurance are as follows:

  • Chromebook: $300
  • Screen:
    • Touchscreen display: $140
    • Non-touchscreen display: $65
  • Keyboard: $50
  • Top/bottom case: $40

Qustodio

Princeton ISD has partnered with Qustodio to provide parents with a free app as part of our commitment to online safety. 

With the Qustodio Parent App, you will have greater visibility into your child's online activities, helping you keep their screen time safe and balanced. 

To get started:

  • Create your free account by visiting qustodio.com/my-school. To begin, enter the email address provided as the primary contact for your child's household through the district's online registration.
  • Connect with your child's school account.

Chromebook Repairs & Replacements

Insured Chromebooks
To repair or replace an insured Chromebook, submit a claim to School Device Coverage by logging into your account.

 

Uninsured Chromebooks
Claims for Chromebook repairs or replacements can be made through RevTrak Online Payment Center or through your campus library.
 
Chromebook Chargers
Replacement Chromebook chargers are $20 and can be purchased through RevTrak Online Payment Center or through your campus library. 

Chromebook Returns

All campus-issued Chromebooks and chargers must be returned in good working condition at the end of each school year, or when the student withdraws. Students who do not return their Chromebook and charger or they are not in good working condition are responsible for the replacement costs. The Chromebook replacement cost is $300 and the charger is $20.
