Technology works with CATE students for Chromebook repairs
Beau Boyde and Toni Abiba

Technicians from the district’s technology department are training students at Princeton High School who are part of the information technology career pathway through CATE.

During these sessions, students from Robert Stevens’ computer technician and computer maintenance classes learn how to repair Chromebooks by working on school-issued devices that need a little TLC to get them functional again. These Chromebooks have been returned by students and have existing repair tickets.

As they are learning, the students get to help trouble-shoot the problems and receive the expert advice to know the best fix.

PISD Technology will hire student interns once again to work this summer, and these CATE students will be excellent candidates for the program. They will have already been working on district hardware and will have a hands-on working knowledge of the repair process.
