Student sets sights on photography
PHS photographer captures TCU tennis.

PHS photography student Saray Esquivel got the opportunity to shoot a tennis tournament at TCU recently as the Horned Frogs battled the 10th-ranked Texas Longhorns.

The senior also had a chance to visit head tennis Coach David Roditi who’s been coaching at TCU since 2010. As a Horned Frog himself, Roditi had the opportunity to return to his Alma mater where he’d been a TCU legend and three-time All American as a tennis player from 1993-96.

Saray started her path to photography four years ago during her freshman year at PHS while in Marcellus Hill’s beginning photojournalism class.

“She has since taken off with the hobby,” Mr. Hill said. “I was able to reach out to TCU and get her credentials for their matchup. She's extremely talented and has improved vastly as a photographer since her freshman year.”

According to Mr. Hill, her goal is to attend UNT in the fall and become a sports photographer with their athletic programs.
