Current or Former Employees of Princeton ISD
A Teacher Service Record is the official document used to record years of service claimed for salary increment purposes. Districts are required to provide service records within 30 days of the request (TEC 21.4031).
Princeton ISD stores most service records electronically. An electronic or scanned version of a service record is considered an original copy if the document is given directly to an employing school district.
New Employees to Princeton ISD
It is the responsibility of the employee to provide verification of all full-time experience earned outside of Princeton Independent School District. Experience acceptable for salary credit purposes must be earned in a public or private school that is accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the Texas Education Agency. Credit for experience earned in out-of-state institutions will not be granted until the original service records are received and verified. You will need to contact your previous district to obtain an official service record.
Calculating Credible Years of Service
Beginning with the 1998–1999 school year, 90 days of full-time employment or 180 days of part-time employment are required for the year to count as creditable. The 90 days required at 100 percent may be equivalent to four and one-half months or a full semester. The 180 days required at 50–99 percent of the day may be equivalent to 90 full-time equivalent days, using the percent of day employed multiplied by the number of days employed.
