Reading gives us some place to go when we have to stay where we are. - Mason Cooley
I have been blessed to work with the children of Princeton, TX for fourteen years now. I taught at Lacy Elementary for eight of those years and had the privilege to open Smith Elementary my ninth year and have been here ever since. What a blessing! I graduated from The University of North Texas in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdiciplinary Studies. My very first year of third grade was such an amazing year, being given the honor of Teacher of the Year for Lacy Elementary. I did not expect that award at all, but felt very humbled in receiving it. I have truly been blessed teaching at Princeton ISD, and look forward to many more years. I enjoyed teaching the younger babies so much, when the opportunity came about to move back to first grade, I gladly welcomed it.
Last year I was asked to teach our ARI program. My heart has always been in reading and helping my students discover new strategies to improve their reading abitlity. This summer I had the privilege to attend the Take Flight Training for Dyslexic students. Over the next two years I will be working to become a certified Dyslexic Therapist. What an opportunity!!! I am so excited about this program and what it is going to do for the students of Princeton ISD. I can't wait to get started!
I currently live in Blue Ridge and have been married to my wonderful husband for 20 years. We have been blessed with three amazing children, Haven who is a Senior, Hallie who is a freshman, and my baby boy, Easton, who will be in the fourth grade. They all attend Princeton ISD and are the light of my life.
