Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Alexis Garcia

Welcome to my page!

I am Mrs. Alexis Garcia. I will be teaching Kindergarten this year and it will be so much fun! I was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. I began studying at the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) as a bilingual teacher. My family and I visited my parents in McKinney and fell in love with the area. We moved and I transferred to the University of Texas at Dallas. I graduated in 2019 and completed my student teaching at McKinney, ISD. I have been teaching since 2019 and I am excited to now live and work in Princeton! I have taught 4th grade Math and Science, 2nd grade all subjects and been a Team Leader in both grades. Prior to my teaching certificate, I worked as a teachers' assistant in a day care.

My goal each year is to engage my students in their learning and to teach them about the power of a growth mindset. I want all my students to feel that they can make mistakes and learn from them. I want my students to know that they may not know something, but with practice they will succeed. My teaching philosophy is based on a growth mindset. All my students can and will learn new skills. They just need to learn from their mistakes and keep on trying!

To get to know me better, I am also a mom of two and have been married since 2014. We really enjoy our family time when we are off work. We love having movie nights, going to Texas Rangers games and bbqing at home. We are currently enjoying summer by the swimming pool and watching our daughter learn to play soccer and swim. Our son will be born in November of 2022 and we couldn't be more excited to meet him!
