Ms. Taylor

Hola, my name is Gina Taylor.  I am returning to the metroplex after being in the Waco area for a number of years.  I am excited to be a part of the panther community.  I come from a family of educators--my dad was ahigh school teacher and football coach, and my mom was a high school administrator with each serving several decades in education. Growing up with a football coach for a father meant we moved a lot, so I have lived in several parts of the state and know what it's like to be the new kid in school.

I began my career in education in 1993 at a small school in the southern part of Texas.  I have taught multiple subjects that include: Spanish, English, reading, speech, debate, humanities, elementary P.E., jr. high and high school girls' athletics, cross country, and track for boys and girls.  While many of my peers have set their goals on becoming administrators, I have deliberately chosen to stay in the classroom.  I strive to be a bright spot in my students' day where they are excited to get to my class to see what our next adventure is going to be.  I'm not afraid to show my students that teachers are human and goofy and believe that everyone is capable of learning with the right environment.

I have two nieces who know that Aunt Gigi is definitely the person to spoil them.  I love dogs!!!! I did have pups but lost them all within that last few years. Once I get settled in my new home I hope to bring home another friendly pup.  I also love home-improvement projects, movies, reading, dancing, and laughing.  I truly believe life's struggles and challenges are better with laughter and strive to impart laughter whenever possble.  Life is meant to be enjoyed rather than survived.  :-)  I look forward to a wonderful year at Lovelady High School!!!

My conference time is 1st period, and my tutorial times are after school from 3:00-3:30 and before school by appointment.  Students must check with me before coming early or staying after school in order to ensure the time is maximized for the student's benefit.
