How we communicate
Communication is a major component of Princeton ISD and we use several methods of communication to keep our community informed depending on the nature of the information and the action needed by our parents and community. These include the Princeton ISD website, Facebook, Twitter and the automated notification system (text, e-mail, and/or telephone messages), and when needed, the news media. We aim to keep our parents and community informed in a timely manner, especially as it pertains to any changes to the instructional day. We understand that there is not one communication tool that will reach everyone, so throughout the course of our communication planning for each message we may use a variety of methods to communicate. Please remember that the nature of the message will determine which method(s) we use. Non-emergency situational updates will generally be made via social media.
Facebook (@PrincetonISD)
Messages will be posted as quickly as possible to Princeton ISD's Facebook page and Twitter feed and, when possible, the campus page(s) will share the message.
We will use these social media outlets to post notices about campus closures, safety drills and lockdown procedures. The weekly email express, and monthly board notes will be shared on Facebook along with daily activities, events and recognitions across the district.
The Princeton ISD website (www.princetonisd.net)
District-wide important and emergency messages will be posted as a pop-up or top-screen banner on every webpage as they develop.
Automated notification system (Infinite Campus)
During an emergency or crisis, Princeton ISD will provide updated information as needed to parents and/or emergency contacts via automated e-mail, text-messages and/or phone messages. This may be utilized for a campus or group of campuses.
If did not opt-in to these messages during online registration, please contact your campus PEIMS personnel
Local news media
When appropriate, Princeton ISD will make information available to local newspapers, television, and radio stations and will enlist their assistance in communicating with our community.
