Princeton Athletic Training & Sports Medicine Program

"The Team Behind the Team"

The Princeton ISD Athletic Training Program is open to students in grades 9-12. Applications open each March for incoming 9th and 10th graders, with 25-30 students selected annually.

Student aides work alongside certified athletic trainers, assisting with injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and hydration for Princeton ISD athletic teams. Participants also complete Sports Medicine I, II and III, earning one elective credit per course while studying anatomy, physiology, sports psychology and athletic injury care.

Students also have opportunities to shadow sports medicine professionals at Baylor Scott & White, Peak Physical Therapy and other partner organizations.

For more information, contact Head Athletic Trainer, Shannon Wright, at swright@princetonisd.net

Applications for the 2026-2027 school year are open until April 2, 2026.
