Accessibility Statement
We want everyone who visits the Princeton Independent School District website to feel welcome and have a rewarding experience. We are committed to ensuring that people with disabilities have the same access to our electronic and information technologies as people without disabilities, including content made available through our websites.
Princeton ISD is committed to compliance with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 and Title II. Websites used by Princeton ISD strive to provide substantially similar functionality, experience and information access to individuals with disabilities as it provides to others.
What are we doing?
To help us make the Your School website a positive place for everyone, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone.
For your convenience, the WCAG2.2 Guideline states that digital content should be:
- Perceivable
- Provide text alternatives for any non-text content so that it can be changed into other forms people need, such as large print, braille, speech, symbyols or simpler language.
- Provide alternatives for time-based media.
- Create content that can be presented in different ways (for example simpler layout) without losing information or structure.
- Make it easier for users to see and hear content, including separating foreground from background.
- Operable
- Make all functionality available from a keyboard
- Provide users enough time to read and use content.
- Do not design content in a way that is known to cause seizures.
- Provide ways for users to navigate, find content and determine where they are.
How are we doing?
We've worked hard on the Princeton ISD district and campus websites and believe we've achieved Level AA accessibility. We monitor the website regularly to maintain this; however, if you have a disability and do find any problems, please contact our webmaster, Katie Guinn, at katie.guinn@princetonisd.net. In your email, please include the URL of the page causing concern along with a detailed description of the problems you are experiencing.
