Welcome to Mrs. Mendez's 2nd Grade Class

About me:

My name is Mrs. Mendez and I have been teaching since August 2018. My first year, I taught Pre-K at Lacy Elementary the next three years, I taught first grade at Lacy. This will be my first year teaching 2nd grade and where better to do that than Mayfield Elementary! I went to college at the University of North Texas. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 6 years old. I am currently in my Master's Program at Texas A&M to work towards getting my School Counselor Degree. I got married the summer of 2020, to Joseph, and we have two dogs, Shiloh and Boomer. We are currently expecting a baby girl that is due November 23rd. I am always excited for a new school year. I love to see the new students, challenges, and adventures that each school year brings. 

Some of my hobbies include: wakeboarding, enjoying the lake, swimming, being outside, listening to music, and watching tv.
