COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT SOS BAND CAMP

    What is Band Camp?

SOS Band Camp is a day camp focused on giving your young musician the opportunity to play with students from different schools, grades, and walks of life! They get to come and practice their instrument for 4 days, and will learn all sorts of new things about music in general and their instrument! We will have sectionals, full band rehearsals, snow cone breaks, elective time (Jazz Band, Choir, Colorguard, Music Theory, Drum Major/Leadership), Coke Grams, Buttons, yummy food, and night activities (movie night on Thursday, and a dance on Friday)!

Is food provided for my child during camp?

Yes! Princeton ISD helps provide lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and the Princeton Band Boosters provide lunch on Saturday, and dinners on Thursday and Friday before the night electives.  If your camper has any food allergies or special food needs please let us know on the SOS Registration form, and we will make sure those needs are met. The Band Boosters will also provide free Snow Cones during the day. If your camper would like to purchase snacks at the night activity (Movie night, or Dance night) they can bring money with them that day!

Can my camper get a refund if they choose not to attend?

If camp has already started, then no,  we will not be able to refund the money. We do understand that some things are out of our control, and will try to work with you as much as possible.

What time does camp start every day?

We will start checking students in on Wednesday morning at 8:00 am, and then have a camp meeting at 8:30 am.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will start at 8:30 am.

What time is camp over each day?

    Wednesday - 5:00 pm

Thursday - Movie Night, 8:30 pm

Friday - Dance Night. 8:30 pm

Saturday - Concert, Students may leave camp once their band has performed! Concerts will START at 2:30 pm

Can I check my child out during Band Camp?

Yes! We would like for campers to stay at Camp as much as possible, but we understand that something might come up. If you need to check your child out, please come to the Band Camp Office, located next to the Band Hall. You're child is not allowed to leave campus without being checked out through the Band Office first!

How do I know which band my child is in after auditions?

We encourage the campers to tell you when they get home how their audition went, and what band they were put in. If for some reason your camper forgets to inform you, feel free to call up to the Band Camp Office, and we will let you know!

How much are the buttons and Coke Grams that are sold at camp?

If your camper would like to personalize a button, or send a coke gram to their friends, they can go to the Button / Coke Gram table at Camp. Each button is 50 cents, and coke grams are $1.  We will have change!
