Welcome to Huddleston Library.
I am very excited to be your student's library para this year and look forward to many more years. I have a love for books and a passion for reading and look forward to sharing this passion with your student!
I was born in Wisconsin where I was raised by my mother and brother. During my youth, I became an athlete in Swimming, Gymnastics, and Track and fell in love with music through playing the violin and cello. Right out of High School, I became the first female member in my family to join the military. I truly enjoyed my time while in the Navy working with so many individuals from around the country and traveling with my unit. I loved working on Aircraft and fell in love with all types of aircraft as my knowledge grew. I later got out to raise my daughters. I have two daughters, Morgan and Tabatha who have became my world when they were born. Morgan attends Tarelton University for Ag Science. Tabatha attends UT of Austin where she is pre Med and will be a future Physical Therapist. I am recently Married and gained to wonderful Step Sons. Keldon is out of school and living and working in Colorado, while Austin is a Senior this year here in Princeton. Austin has a goal to go to OSU in Stillwater Oklahomo and study in the Agricultural Field.
I, myself, studied after the Military and became a certified Vet Tech because of the love I have for animals, but realized that is not where I wanted to be. So after all of our travels within the states and in the world, I finally settled in Texas where I started to get involved within the schools. I worked with students with disabilities for almost 17 years between life skill classrooms and resource and loved every bit of my job. I became very active with Special Olympics as a coach and also ran a delegation for a few years. I worked on raising money for Special Olympic Athletes and have Repelled down Sky Scrappers in Dallas for these amazing kids and will continue for many years to come. Recently, I was given the oppurtunity for a new path direction in my life coming into the library. I feel this job is perfect because of the love I have for books and for students and excited to share my love for books with our students and encourage them to read to see that books can take them on an amazing Journey with each story they read!
My goals for the Library:
1: Spread my excitement for reading and love for books to the students
2: Educate students on the Libary and what a great resource the Library can be
3: Show the students there is a very exciting world out there through books which will help them set a goal of learning all they can and possibly take their knowledge to travel
4: I am starting a book club this year where students can gather and discuss the books they are reading and share their passion with others
