Ms. Jatalia "Tay" Smith
Hi, my name is Jatalia but feel free to call me Ms. Tay, and I am the Life Skills 1 teacher here at Lacy. This will be my 2nd year with Princeton ISD.
I have been teaching for a total of 8 years in various areas under the Special Education umbrella. I started as a paraprofessional after college; obtained my certificate for Special Education which (years later) has taken me on a journey to experience the many programs of Special Education that I graciously enjoy.
I received both my Bachelor's (General Studies) and Master's (Special Education-Educational Diagnostician) Degrees from Texas Woman's University (Denton Campus). Getting my Master's Degree has opened my eyes to the foundation of understanding the determination of what it takes to provide the necessary support for any and all students from the beginning, during and exiting a special education program. I love being a special education teacher. The reward is endless and priceless!
