Degrees and Certifications:
B.S. Social Science Education
This will be my fifth year teaching at Princeton High School. I am very passionate about teaching Social Studies in a way that gets students involved in the learning process so that they can really enjoy and remember what we are learning.
I grew up in Colorado and absolutely love being there. It is a beautiful state to live in and it was amazing to be able to grow up there. I graduated from a small high school (our graduating class was 150 kids). After high school, I went to Missouri and graduated from Southwest Baptist University with a B.S. Degree in Social Science Education. I have always loved Social Studies, in school and out of school. Learning about all the amazing things that people were able to accomplish is fascinating to me. Social Studies is an outstanding subject. It has the ability to encourage students through stories of success, and challenge them to think about deep topics such as the cost of freedom, politics, war, culture, the history of a place, etc.
Outside of school, I love watching movies, reading books, walking my dog Pippin, baking/cooking, riding horses or motorcycles, and thinking of new lesson plans for the class. I also love to travel and have been to Ireland with my family.
