Sponge:  List the steps in the accounting cycle, p. 84.
Review of Chapters 11-15 together. 

Tuesday   Sponge:   What is the difference between a debit and credit memo?
Begin Mini Practice Set #3, pp. 338-340.  Read the intro to the activity.  Begin (1) by recording the remaining June transactions in the various journals.  (2) Post accounts receivable and payable on a daily basis.  (3) Post the individual amounts from the five journals on a dialy basis, also.
 
Wednesday    Sponge:  When a debit memo is issued, what two accounts are debited?
After journalizing and posting, (4) foot, prove, total, and rule the special journals.  (5) Post totoals of special journals to the general ledger accounts.  Use this order:  sales, cash receipts, purchases then cash payments.
 
Thursday    Sponge:  When a credit memo is issued, what two accounts are credited?
Prove Cash; prepare a schedules of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
 
Friday    Sponge:  If Supplies have been incorrectly posted to Purchases, what are the dr/cr entries to correct this.
Complete Practice Set; turn in all papers; take audit test.

Letter of Application

Send it to the person who has the authority to hire you
Call the company for correct spellings of names and titles
Keep it short and to the point
Three carefully written paragraphs:
    Tell why you are writing; mention the job you seek; where you learned of the position

   Tell why you think you are right for the job; explain your qualifications; experience; encourage the employer to refer to your resume
    Ask the employer for an interview; mention how you may be reached; by cell, email, home phone
Be sure to format the letter correctly
