Classroom Procedures

1.      When the bell rings:
a)     Be in your seat
b)     Stop talking
c)     Face the front and give me your attention
2.      Put bags, backpacks and purses on the floor
3.      Have materials out a ready to begin
4.      Make quick, smooth and quiet transitions
5.   Be courteous to others
6.   Do not distract others
7.   No uninvited talking
8.   Dress code violation
9.   Clean up your own messes and materials




Discipline Consequences:

You will have a choice to serve lunch detentions for 10 minutes, or before school or after
school detentions for 30 minutes. You have three days to serve your detention. Four or
more offenses result in an automatic office referral.



                                                        Late Homework Assignments:
                 1)       Student does not turn in the work on the day that it is due
                        ·   Consequence – assign tutoring detention the next day
                        ·   The grade for the paper if t is the first late paper for the six weeks is the grade
                                the student would received if it had been turned in on time
                  2)       Student does not go to the detention and does not have the work the next day
                       ·   Consequence – student receives a zero and can be made up at teacher’s
                               discretion
                       ·   If teacher and student make arrangements to accept the assignment the grade
                               can be no higher than a 70
                  3)       Student does not turn in the work after going to detention
                       ·   Consequence – student receives a zero and can be made up at teacher’s
                               discretion
                       ·   If teacher and student make arrangements to accept the assignment the grade
                              can be no higher than a 50
                   4)       Student does not turn in the work after the third day grade is a zero and phone contact parent

Art Shows

Annual Onion Festival Art Show
   Each art student is required to enter at least one art project in the art show.

- Work is submitted to Mr. Reid or Mr. Cantrell. Work that is selected is based on quality,
   neatness and potential to compete.
- Entry Fee: $1.00 per entry. This covers entry fee and materials.
- Maximum number entries is three per student
- Work needs to be matted - with a colored mat or simple posterboard that "frames" the work.
- Work must have some method of hanging for display. (wire, string or hook)
- Judging will take place the week before the show.
- Judging will take place in three categories:
           1) Student Choice Awards for each category
           2) Faculty Awards for each category
           3) Best of Show
