Class Policies

Physical Education Letter

Dear Parents or Guardians,

We are very excited about the physical education program at Princeton High School. Students attending P.E. classes will focus on meeting curriculum requirements while developing and maturing socially.

Grading will be based on attitude, participation, effort, and dressing out, NOT on skill and ability.

REWARDS

Students will be rewarded and recognized for positive behaviors by means of verbal praise, positive notes to parents, special class/school recognition, and positive phone calls home.

Gym

Safety will be the main focus in the gym. Therefore, the following guidelines will be practiced and strictly enforced.

• Students will be considerate and respectful of themselves, peers and teachers at ALL times.
• (Cheap) Tennis shoes, school appropriate t-shirt, and shorts, or sweats are required for class. Students who do not have the proper clothing will still participate in all activities for the day. However they will have 25 points removed from their daily grade.
• *An allotted time period will be given for students to obtain the dress out clothes. The shorts and shirt DO NOT have to be brand new. Please have students write his/her name on the inside of their clothes.
• Whistle Rules - students will immediately stop, look and listen for instructions upon hearing the whistle.
• Students must bring a written note to be excused from activities. Parents may provide an excuse for 1-3 days. For more than 3 days, a Doctor's note is required. The note must include a phone number where a parent can be reached. This DOES NOT EXCUSE the student from dressing out in P.E. clothes.

Violation of these rules will result in disciplinary actions. We do our best to handle all infractions in the gym.

Dressing Room Guidelines

All students will be given 5 minutes at the beginning of class to dress out, and 10 minutes at the end of class to prepare to leave the gym. Students are to use only the lockeroom that is designated for PE.

Dressing Room Rules

1. Respect others belongings
2. Keep lockers locked
3. DO NOT bring valuables to class
4. NO bad language
5. NO fighting
6. Graffiti WILL NOT be Tolerated!!! (Take pride in your school)

If these rules are broken the same consequences stated above will be used. We are looking forward to a successful school year. Please feel free to contact us during our conference period concerning any needs or concerns you and your child may have.
