All About Mrs. McCord

I am Michelle McCord. I grew up in Sherman, Texas, home of the Sherman Bearcats. I met my best friend, and future husband, in the 5th grade.  Although at the time, I had no idea he was going to be my future husband!  After high school, I attended Grayson County Community  College for 1 year. Then, I was off to Lubbock, Texas. I am a Texas Tech Red Raider through and through.  Get your Guns Up!! Shortly after graduating, my high school sweetheart and I moved back to McKinney.  I opened the phone book and applied to every school district I could find.  Soon, I received a call from Princeton.  That was back in 1991.  I have been here ever since!  This is my 18th year in Princeton and all 18 have been in Kindergarten.  I have loved every minute of it!  I have been Kindergarten Lead Teacher for 10 years now.  I love this community, school district, and the families that reside here. My husband, Bo, and I married in December of 1991.  We began actually dating in 11th grade and the rest is history! We moved from McKinney to Plano 12 years ago.  Bo is a senior art director with The Richards Group in Dallas.  He is very busy creating ads and commercials.  We have been blessed with 3 wonderful children.  Max, Zack, and Maddie McCord Max is 15, 6'2" and a sophomore at Liberty High School in Frisco.  (Although we live in Plano, we are on the edge so we attend Frisco ISD.)  He is a master saxophone player in the band.  We are very excited that this year he will be marching in Bearcat stadium as Frisco is now in Sherman's district. He will be marching where his dad played football and his mom was a cheerleader! Zack is 12 and a 7th grader at Fowler Middle School in Frisco.  He is so excited to FINALLY get to play football for real and not in little league.  Both of my sons have the most awesome of colors for their teams, red and black!  Zack also plays tuba in Symphonic Band which is a great accomplishment for a 7th grader.  He says he can do both, but I have a feeling which one is going to win out! Madison, Maddie for short, is a 3rd grader at Lacy Elementary School.  All of my children attended Princeton schools while they were in elementary and Zack attended Huddleston as well.  She is the light and sassiness in all of our lives!  She was born with spina bifida, a birth defect that occurs when the spinal column does not form completely and allows the spinal cord to escape into the back.  We were told that she would never walk or have normal brain function.  Lo and behold, she is a walking, talking miracle!  Truly, there are angels among us.  She has taught us all the power of determination.  Do not ever tell Maddie that she cannot do something.  She will prove you wrong every time!  And her friends just might kick you in the knees as well!  I am so excited to be teaching your child this year.  We are going to have an awesome year and learn many exciting and fun things.  Hold on for a fantastic ride!!
