Here are some things you can do at home with mom or dad so that you can be even smarter than you are now!
Sing the ABC song and leave out letters.  Have your child fill in the missing letters as you sing.
Write the letters A  a  B  b  on index cards.  Then have your child identify the letters and match the capital and lowercase letters.
Have your child draw a picture of a his or her room.  Ack your child to write the word "the" in front of objects in the picture.
Ask your child to draw a picture of a house.  Then write "The House" on your child's picture.
Sing the ABC song, skipping letters.  Then ask your child to fill in the missing letters.
Write the letters K  k   L   l on index cards.  Have your child identify the letters and match the capital and lowercase letters.
Have your child draw a picture of his or her favorite toys.  Ask your child to write the word "a" in front of each object in the picture.
Ask your child to draw a picture of his or her friend.  Help your child label the picture "A Friend".
Say a list of words.  Ask your child to clap when he or she hears words that begin with the letter "n", such as night, noodle, and no.
Go on a word hunt with your child.  Look through the kitchen cabinets for foods that begin with the letter "n".
Ask your child to draw a picture of each family member.  Have your child write the word "my" in front of each person.
Ask your child to draw a picture of his or her school.  Then help your child label the picture "My School".
Take turns with your child thinking of things that begin with the letter "a".
Draw a big apple on a piece of paper.  Have your child write the letters A   a   on it.
Have your child draw a picture of his or her favorite zoo animals.  Help your child label the picture "The Zoo".
Ask your child to draw a picture of Nan doing something fun.  Then help your child write "Nan" on the picture.
Take turns with your child thinking of words that rhyme with "Nan". 
Write the letters N,  a,  n  on index cards.  Ask your child to form the words Nan and an.
Take turns with your child makin up sentences using:  the,  a,  my,  and that.
Read the following words:  Nan,  an,  and cup.  Ask your child to say the words that rhyme. 
Fold a piece of paper into three sections.  Have your child write a stroy about Nan.  Help your child label each page "That Nan!" 
Look at some family photos with your child.  Have your child identify the pictures using the words:  the, a, my, that 
Review the high-frequency words:  the,  a,  my,  that.  Ask your child to use each word in a sentence. 
Write the letters of the alphabet on small pieces of paper.  Review the letters with your child.
