email meThe elementary school library is located in the main hall just to the right of the offices. Students Pre-K through 4th grade use the library/media center. Donna Swisher is the librarian/media specialist.
Students have access to a large variety of books, both fiction
and
non-fiction, as well as reference materials and magazines.
Reading
is promoted in the 2nd and 4th grades using the Accelerated Reader
Program.
Pre-K through 1st grades visit the library regularly for story
time.
Students have access to the library at all times during the school day.
The
library is open from 7:45am until 3:45pm each school day. Students can
access
the library
each day from 8:05 to 3:00 pm. Regular checkout time for a book
is
two weeks.
The
library is fully automated for check-out and check-in of all school
media
materials. Faculty and students can access information about
books
at computer stations in the library. Teachers may access the OPAC
catalog from their classrooms. Internet access is also available in the
library under
supervision only.
A new
section of our school library is especially for parents of our
students. This section contains books that parents may check out
for their own reading covering such topics as parenting and child
rearing. Included in these topics are discipline,
self-concept, school law and other topics that might be of
interest to parents. Stop by the library and check these books
out.
