BEE NOTEBOOK

BEE stands for Bring Everything Everyday and is a program implemented at Godwin Elementary.  It is designed to teach your child good organizational skills and provide a great way for us to communicate.  It is your child’s responsibility to bring home his or her BEE notebook each day and return it the following day.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at school.

This sleeve will hold a copy of the week’s homework along with the spelling words.

PART 2 – POCKET DIVIDERS

POCKET 1: Behavior Chart

This chart lets you know how your child’s behavior was for the week.  Your child will be given a grade for his or her behavior each Friday.  Please discuss your child’s behavior with him or her, and then sign on the space provided.  It is important that the chart be returned on Monday in order to begin a new week.

Any special notes about events that are taking place – such as field trips, special days, or book orders – will be placed in this pocket.

POCKET 3: Homework

This pocket will hold the daily homework paper.  If your child does not turn in the homework assignment, it will result in a color change for the day.

POCKET 4: Home Reading Log

Students are required to read 15 minutes for four nights a week.  This pocket will hold the reading log.

POCKET 5: Study for Tests

PART 3 – PARENT/TEACHER COMMUNICATION JOURNAL

This journal will be a means of communication between home and school.  The children will understand that the journal is only for adults.  If there is anything you would like me to know or any concerns you have, please write it in the journal and date it.  I will either answer you back or give you a phone call.  I may write notes to you as well, so please check it every day.
