I started my
career
in education in 1984. After graduating from Texas Tech with a double
major
in Deaf Education and English, I got my first teaching job as a teacher
of hearing impaired students in Plainview, TX. I taught there for 3
years
and moved to Lubbock where I worked for 4 more years. In 1991, I
married
and moved to Sachse.
I started
working
in Princeton in October, 1991 as the PPCD teacher. A few years later, I
became the Inclusion/Content Mastery teacher for the special education
department. After 21 years in special education,
I decided to take the plunge and switch to 3rd grade in 2005.
I am thrilled
to be teaching 3rd grade. I feel that my experience in special
education
has helped me be a better general education teacher. I can easily
identify problems my students might have with individual skills and
remediate
quickly.
Thank you for
allowing me to be your child's teacher.
