Meet the Teacher - Betsy Durnin

Hello!  This is my 8th year as an educator.  I began my teaching career at Princeton Elementary.  After two years, I moved to Story Elementary in Allen ISD.  I returned to Princeton ISD, and I am very happy to be teaching at Godwin.  I hold a B.A. from the University of North Texas in Denton in psychology, and received my teacher certification from UNT as well.  I am currently working on a master's degree in special education through Texas Tech University.

I have lived in the north Texas area since 1982.  I live in Allen with my husband and two children.  My daughter, Colleen, is a 7th grader this year.  My son, William, is a 4th grader.  My husband is a software engineer in Richardson.  We have a dog named Clark, two cats named Dixie and Chloe, and a mouse named Lily.  There is never a dull moment in my house!  My hobbies are music (I play piano), reading, rubber stamping, and scrapbooking.

Second grade can be a challenging year - there are so many things to learn!  I feel privledged to be able to spend the year with your child.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns about your child's education.
