About My Life
I grew up in Odessa,
Texas and graduated from Odessa Permian in 1998 (GO MOJO!!!). From high
school, I went to Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. While in
San Angelo, I earned my BA in communications and journalism; I participated in
the theatre program; I worked for the Fox Affiliate; and I met my future
husband. Upon graduation, I continued to work for KIDY-TV for one
year. In the summer of 2002, I went to Sul Ross State University in
Alpine to complete courses and gain my teaching certification.
In August of 2002, I started teaching speech, theatre and debate at Princeton
High School. In February 2003, I married the man I met at ASU-John
Sowell. I continued to teach at PHS for three years. In my final
year at PHS, I had a baby boy, Hunter. For the 2005-2006 school year, I
attempted staying home with Hunter, but was no good at staying home.
Constantly, I was at PHS trying to help with theatre and debate again.
So, for the spring of 2006, I went to work in Prosper. In Prosper I
taught 4th-8th grades theatre and speech.
Starting in the fall of 2006, I was back in Princeton – teaching choir and
theatre. I have a beautiful baby boy and a very supportive husband.
I am looking forward to watching the developing performance skills at Princeton
and hope that you will all come out and watch when we perform for the
community!
